My career in financial services started in 1993. Having gained a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and MBA in Finance, I held a variety of roles with Citibank, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, American Express Bank and Credit Suisse before settling into mortgage consultancy. In 2021, I joined Crystal Clear Financial Planning Limited, one of the most reputable whole-of-market mortgage broker company in the UK.
I’m very proud to say that I’m heavily involved with a local domestic race equality charity, helping people from Black and minoritised ethnic communities to understand finance and give them the confidence they need to take control of their financial circumstances. I live in Surrey and, although most of my clients are UK based, some are international.
Working within the banking sector, and particularly within the real estate financing industry, for so long has given me an in-depth understanding of how it works; experience I use for the benefit of my clients.
My time in investment banking gave me an opportunity to establish long-lasting relationships with many private clients. In addition to ‘everyday’ residential and buy-to-let purchases, my particular areas of expertise include first-time-buyers, re-financing, clients with multiple complex income streams and portfolio landlords.
I’m passionate about what I do – helping someone fulfil their dreams is incredibly rewarding. Financial transactions relating to property are usually a significant event in anyone’s life and can be stressful, so being able to both help and make a real difference are key motivators.
Getting to know my clients is something I enjoy. Doing so helps me understand their true circumstances which means I can offer them sound advice – not only to make a successful loan application, but one that helps to meet their goals.
